When you want to begin your career as a
professional video editor, or if you just have this hobby, then you are
probably looking for a software with all the right features, that also
doesn't cut slack to the quality of the image and sound.
Corel VideoStudio Pro is a multimedia editor that's very easy to work with when you are creating video footage. It's ideal for HDs or DVDs.
The interface is very user-friendly, and even beginners could get a kick out of this software.
There are mainly three steps: capture, edit, and share.
You can capture video, import from digital media or a mobile device, or pick Stop Motion. Editing is very easy, as VideoStudio Pro supports drag-and-dropping.
In the Share tab, you can create a video file (e.g. MPEG optimizer, DVD, Blu-Ray, MPEG 4), create a sound file (as WAV, MP4, or WMA), create a disc, export to a mobile device, and others.
There are a lot of features you can explore, so just make sure to take your time with the software. You can end up creating some marvelous video projects.
Unfortunately, the trial version of VideoStudio Pro is limited, as expected. For example, you can only capture up to 30 frames in Stop Motion.
Also, although the software's response time is pretty fast, it has problems performing a task every now and then. For example, when we selected "Import from Digital Media" in the Capture tab, VideoStudio Pro got stuck for long while, but then it managed to open the file browser window.
But there are plenty of special effects you can play with: transitions, text animations, images and graphic animations, as well as filters (e.g. 2D mapping, 3D texture mapping, adjusting).
Since this is a complex application, CPU and memory are heavily used, so make sure your computer is up to the challenge.
Except for a few minor glitches, we think Corel VideoStudio Pro is a wonderful and easy-to-use video editor. The price of the full version is reasonable as well.
